The HTC Excalibur is no longer a red head stepchild, thanks to the recent FCC approval. The Excalibur really lacks the WOW factor for the design as well as features. First of all, we bitched and complained about the fugly looking Blackberry, and what does HTC do? They designed the Excalibur to look just as bad. Second, I’m really going to dock HTC for only using a TI OMAP 850 200MHz and a measly 970-mAh battery. What in the world are they thinking? Do they really think that the US market will really eat up this load of bull crap of a smartphone? I sure hope not.
To recap the Excalibur’s other features and specs, it runs MS Windows for Smartphone, with a 2.4-inch 320×240 QVGA TFT display, 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB of Ram. It will also have Wireless WAN, EDGE, Bluetooth, 1.3-megapixel camera, mini USB, microSD slot for memory expansion. It looks like this new smartphone will be offered by Cingular, and some T-Mobile customer will want it too.
